The smart Sun Conure named Johnny likes to hang out on his perch at home in Prachinburi province, Thailand for most of the day.

Come bedtime he will flop onto the couch and tuck himself into the soft and comfortable sheets before dozing off.

Footage shows the cute sun parakeet grooming himself while lying down on his tiny bed.

The custom-made pillow and blanket resemble his vivid plumage - a beautiful blend of bright green, orange, yellow, and red.

The bird's keepers - a Thai woman and her Swiss husband - said they treat Johnny as their own child.

Pet owner Khun Pom Phichon said: ‘Johnny is like our son. He recently learned how to say papa and is very close to my husband Ariel.'
