Wildfire Escape
Escaping a wildfire on 31st July
During our holidays we were on the highway Nr. 36 in direction to Redding near Hayfork, California. First we saw a lot of smoke in the air in the near mountains. Then the situation changed dramaticely and we saw an wild fire in the near of the road. But the road was still open and there was some traffic in both directions. In a curve the fire jumped very fast over the street. We were may be the last car which could no more pass. We had to escape. My husband took the back gear and accelerated the car backwards. I was really shocked. I don¨t really know why and how I filmed it.
