The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission arrives in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, to inspect the nuclear plant amid fears of a potential catastrophe.

The visit comes after intense fighting between Russia and Ukraine. On August 5 and 7, shells hit high-voltage power lines at the plant causing a fire. One of the power units has to be turned off.

There are concerns over the safety of the IAEA's team in Zaporizhzhia as Ukraine accuses Russia of boycotting the official visit with continuous shelling in the area. Russia also blames Ukraine of military action in Zaporizhzhia.

The nuclear power plant has been occupied by Russian troops since March 6, but the Ukrainian Energy State Agency keeps running its operations.

The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has called for military withdrawals from Zaporizhzhia but Russia has opposed the complete demilitarisation of the site.
