Waste turned into manure for Indian farmers at a plant in Gaya, northern India
A waste-processing plant in the city of Gaya in Bihar, northern India, is producing compost for local organic farmers.
The Gaya Municipal Corporation began to make the organic manure from waste around a year ago.
Various machines have been installed at the dump in the Naili area of the city, to process the waste.
Under the government's Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission), the municipal corporation is aiming to deal with 100% of the city's waste.
The Mission is a country-wide campaign to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management.
