The Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has inaugurated the dam a day before the start of the Pitrupaksha Mela in the religious city of Gaya September 8.

During the rainy season, the surface of the river Falgu has water, apart from this it remains dry on other days.

According to the beliefs, only the water of this river is necessary for the tarpan after Pind Daan. Due to lack of water, local people as well as tourists have to face a lot of difficulties. In view of this, a rubber dam has been constructed on the Falgu river. After the construction of the rubber dam, there will be water on the surface of the river throughout the year. People who come for Pind Daan will get rid of the problem of lack of water.
