Her Majesty The Queen's coffin will return to London this evening, landing at RAF Northolt on board a Royal Air Force C-17 aircraft.

Her coffin departed St Giles’s Cathedral for Buckingham Palace at around 17:00 on the evening of Tuesday 13th September 2022.

The Princess Royal accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence will travel with the Coffin on its journey.

At RAF Northolt, the Bearer Party and Guard of Honour will be formed by The Queen’s Colour Squadron (63 Squadron RAF Regiment). The Bearer Party will convey the Coffin to the State Hearse.

The Guard of Honour will present arms on the arrival of the Coffin and remain in that position until the State Hearse departs the airfield.

The State Hearse will then convey the Coffin to Buckingham Palace, where it will rest in the Bow Room at Buckingham Palace overnight
