Her Majesty The Queen's coffin this evening returned to London, landing at RAF Northolt on board a Royal Air Force C-17 aircraft.

Her coffin departed St Giles’s Cathedral for Buckingham Palace at around 17:00 on the evening of Tuesday 13th September 2022.

The Princess Royal accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence traveled with the Coffin on its journey.

At RAF Northolt, the Bearer Party and Guard of Honour was formed by The Queen’s Colour Squadron (63 Squadron RAF Regiment). The Bearer Party conveyed the Coffin to the State Hearse.

The Guard of Honour presented arms on the arrival of Coffin and remained in that position until the State Hearse departed the airfield.

The State Hearse then conveyed the Coffin to Buckingham Palace, where it will rest in the Bow Room at Buckingham Palace overnight.
