'My boyfriend cheated on me with SEVEN other women – I found out after THIS change to my own BODY,' woman, 19, reveals how lying ex got caught. Part 1
A woman claims she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her with seven other women after an unusual sign from her body over two years.
Tori McFarlin, 19, from Arkansas, US, had only been dating her boyfriend for a month when she started suffering from urinary tract infections, which raised suspicions.
After reading online that UTIs can be caused by cheating partners, red flags appeared for the young woman.
Days later, her fears were confirmed as she spotted a text on her boyfriend's phone from another woman.
"I noticed he had a message from a girl named Anna and her contact specific was set to do not disturb – the message preview said 'I love you too'," Tori told NeedToKnow.online.
"My heart dropped to my stomach.
"I clicked on the message and that's when I saw them. He had been sending her messages that read 'I'm in love with you', 'the girl I'm with is just here keeping me company'.
"There were just all of these hateful messages about how I didn't mean anything at all to him, sent with the timestamp of me cuddled up sleeping thinking I was safe in his arms."
After reading the messages, Tori immediately went to her boyfriend and questioned him about the suspicious texts.
She said: "When I found out I felt like the most heart-wrenching hit came over my body.
"I just kept thinking, what did all of it mean, how could he do this? Was I not good enough, what could I do different?
"I woke him up angry and told him plain and simple to take me home.
"He asked why and told him I read these messages and I needed to go home.
"He begged and pleaded to talk about it, he even got on his hands and knees for me not to go and to break up with him."
Tori spent the next few days thinking about what to do next and in the end decided to give him a second chance – but things soon took a turn for the worse.
Over the next two years, Tori continued to get UTIs and would often find herself questioning whether or not she was being cheated on again, or if it was due to something else.
In March 2022, she decided to ditch her partner for good, and claims to have discovered he cheated on her with seven women in total.
She said: "I looked through his phone one day because I had a suspicion, I had a gut feeling he wasn't being truthful and I was right.
"He had messages, pictures, videos, etc, from women he had intercourse with while he was on "work weekends".
"I was upset and hurt. I blamed myself afterwards until i realised that it wasn't my fault.
"There was nothing I could have done to stop him from doing that or feeling that way."
Tori says she was “depressed” following the painful break up.
She said: "I didn't leave my bed, didn't brush my hair, I [was] a complete mess. I cried every day for hours.
"One piece of advice I would give to anyone who has been cheated on is to keep your standards high and your expectations low.
"Do what's best for you. Don't ever feel guilty for what damage someone else has done to you."
Despite being heartbroken and determined to focus purely on her wellbeing, around two and a half months later fate stepped in when Tori met the "man of her dreams".
The pair have now been together for seven months.
She said: "After around two months on Tinder, I got a message from a guy who lived 30 minutes away from me and he asked if we could hang out.
"It’s been seven months for a man that worships the ground I walk on [and] treats me like royalty constantly.
"I'm in the process of buying my first home, I have two of the best dogs in the world and most importantly I am finally in a happy and healthy relationship."
***WHAT THE EXPERT SAYS: CAN YOU GET A UTI FROM A PARTNER CHEATING ON YOU?***
We asked Dr Sarah Welsh, an expert in gynaecology and founder of Hanx condoms, if there is a link between UTIs and unfaithful partners.
While she explains that UTIs are common among women and can mimic symptoms of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), they do not "mean that your partner is cheating on you".
"Urinary tract infections and cystitis (inflammation of the bladder often caused by a UTI), are very common in women, due to the anatomy of women," she told us.
"The urethra (the tube that carries urine from our bladder to outside of the body) is much shorter in women in comparison to men, so it’s easier for bacteria to travel from the outside into our bodies and cause irritation and infection.
"It’s pretty common for women to get cystitis after sex, as during penetrative sex, the penis can irritate the back wall of the bladder when it pushes against the front wall of the vagina.
"This pushes bacteria into the bladder, which can be the start of a urinary
tract infection.
"Some women may get cystitis or a UTI after having sex with a new partner, or one partner in particular, due to the anatomy of the couple, as well as being exposed to new bacteria.
"Getting an UTI after sex does not mean your partner has been cheating on you.
"However, some sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can cause symptoms similar [to] UTIs.
"If in doubt, see your GP or sexual health clinic for a check-up."
