Love or leverage? TikToker's controversial dating hacks ignite debate amongst viewers
A 27-year-old TikToker has gone viral sharing her controversial dating hacks for women including why you should always assume your ex can do better.
For Zoey Sinn, using "common sense" while dating is a given – but she watching others crash and burn in their love lives is forcing her to step in with some harsh advice.
The influencer, from Los Angeles, has turned heads after revealing her no-nonsense tips for bagging and keeping a man — including why you should become a little bit more like him.
Sharing the clip to her 248,000 followers, Zoey claims that "accountability" is key in dating and says that assuming your partner can't upgrade could leave you heartbroken.
"My biggest piece of advice to people in the dating world is to stop giving a f*** and let go of your ego," Zoey said.
"He doesn’t like you? Who cares?
“She’s out at the club with her girls ignoring your calls? Let her.
“People are so consumed with the actions of another person, not remembering that 90% of what people do has nothing to do with them.
"They constantly think the world revolves around them and say 'Oh he’ll never find a girl like me! I'm the best thing ever! He messed up by leaving me!'.
“No he won’t find you, he’ll find someone who suits him better and that’s okay."
Zoey felt the need to share her dating wisdom after spotting others sharing "fluffy" advice.
She said: "There's a lack of accountability in these popular videos that modern women eat up.
"I wanted to remind women that while we should value ourselves in the dating world, at the same time look at ourselves and be realistic with the things we want.
"If you want a sweet and loving man you have to also be a sweet and loving woman.
"Stop listening to the people who give advice from a hurt and bitter place, misery loves company and we as a collective are falling right into the trap."
Here are Zoey's four tops tips for fixing your dating life.
MAKE A LIST OF EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN A PARTNER – THEN BECOME THIS PERSON
She said: "You may not realize that the reason that you keep entertaining and dating these a******s is because you have a subconscious need to prove your value by successfully changing him because you feel like it's an achievement.
"Move on, stop f*****g around and stop dating these a******s.”
DON'T ASSUME THEY CAN’T FIND SOMEONE ELSE
She said: "To all my girlies who say, ‘you know what, after a breakup, he'll never find better than me’
“Baby, guess what? He will find better than you.
"Men do not fall in love with your absence.
“They fall in love simply with you.
“If you have to play games to get somebody to love you, you need to understand one thing about a game. It has a winner and an end to it.”
LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAN WHO WANTS YOU AND A MAN WHO VALUES YOU
She said: "I promise you, you already know the difference and you can already feel it.
“Nine times out of 10, you're just choosing to ignore it because it feels good.
"Stop doing what feels good and do what's right.
“And what's right is usually a lot of hard work.”
STOP LETTING A HURT HEART TURN YOU INTO SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT
She said: "You were sweet before you met him, baby girl.
“You should be sweet after him.
“f you let him change your character, he's won, remember that."
Sharing a clip of her dating tips, Zoey’s video has gone viral with over 98,000 views and 16,000 likes.
Andrew said: "My favourite dating coach".
One person said: "That last point needs to be beaten into everyone's head (men and women)".
Katelin added: "GIRL! Yesss!"
Mari wrote: "I’m not looking to date rn but believe me when I tell you, I’m keeping a mental note to all of this".
Another person said: "I love how honest & blunt you are. I respect you".
