Fuel refinery strike is paralysing France: endless queues outside petrol stations

An ongoing strike by TotalEnergies's workers has paralysed France.

Footage filmed today (October 13), shows extremely long queues outside petrol stations in the capital, Paris.

The filmer said: "Some services have priority and are authorized to arrive in the opposite direction of the station to refuel without queuing, such as the police, military, and ambulances".

Workers started their action on September 27 to demand higher pay amid soaring inflations and tensions over pension reforms between the French government and unions.

Reuters reported that both the strike and unplanned maintenance have taken offline more than 60% of the country's refining capacity.
