Yesterday I witnessed for the first time, a baby duckling that was attacked by a snail, today I saw the same thing happen to another duckling. This time a chicken came to see if he could help the duckling. He had a long close look at the situation, and eventually walked away. The owner of the duckling then used a large cleaver to chop the snail in half, then he let go and freed the duckling.
This was the second tim in two days that this happened, the farmer was breeding snails in this pond previously, and after this second incident he removed all the snails. What a bizarre twist, its usually the ducks that eat the snails, but this time it was the snails attacking the ducks.
