‘Rally for permanent visas for refugees—end the delays!’ – Sydney, Australia

Description from the Facebook event page says, “It is approaching six months since the election, yet there is still not even a timeline from the new Labor government about acting on its promise to give permanent visas to 19,000 refugees on TPVs and SHEVs. There are also 10,000 people that were subject to the Liberals' unfair Fast Track processing system that were denied protection. There are 31,000 people affected by this system that need permanent visas now. This delay means students are blocked from university study, and families are kept separated, people remain in 10 years of limbo. There are also hundreds of other refugees who are being completely left behind, with no promise of permanent visas at all, including Medevac refugees brought from offshore detention.”
