Fans form human chain and pray outside hospital where Pelé is receiving palliative care
The great Pele, whom many consider the greatest footballer of all time, has died Thursday (December 29) at the age of 82 from complications from colon cancer.
Dozens of fans gather outside Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on December 4 to show their support for Pelé. They form a human chain, pray and leave messages and posters for the Brazilian football legend.
Pelé was hospitalized after developing a respiratory infection on November 29. His doctors said they wanted to re-evaluate his cancer treatment. It has been reported that the 82-year-old icon, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2021, is now undergoing palliative care.
