Childhood friend leaves London flat in shocking mess and throws personal items away

This shocking footage shows how a man's flat in Greenwich, London, UK, was destroyed and left in a complete mess by a lifelong childhood friend.

Gary Mitchell Lawrence, from London, gave his friend permission to stay in his flat two years ago.

Gary told Newsflare: "I let someone I would consider a brother stay here for two years while I was away in China. Due to COVID-19, I came back and asked him to move out and gave him a three-month notice. Finally, he moved out, and I found out he has completely destroyed the flat".

The tenant lived in the flat with his wife and children and left on December 8.

"He blamed the mess and drawings on every wall in the house on his children and said 'That's just what children do'".

When he visited the flat after two years on December 9, Gary didn't only realise that his property was dirty and messy but soon understood that many of his personal items were missing.

"He said it was his mother-in-law that threw away most of my life possessions. He admitted he threw away my PC computer and said 'He forgot to ask me first'. There is no bed, no TV, no computer, and the walls are all destroyed. He says this kind of state is normal after two years and he blamed his children. He is not a responsible man. What makes it worse is that there's no deposit to claim against, and he doesn't seem to want to take any responsibility toward paying me back for anything".

Gary asked his childhood friend how he could do this to him, and if he would be willing to clean the house, and replace the wallpaper, and the PC. Unfortunately, the friend said that "any tenant leaving a new house makes a little mess" and that Gary "should be lucky that he looked after the house, and that it was better than letting a stranger stay there".

At least, Gary's friend accepted to buy another PC after throwing it away. However, he said quite frankly: "Don't expect something brand new, because your PC was old".
