This is the hilarious moment a sleepy cat scared its owner when it refused to wake up from its slumber on 7 August.

The napping moggy, named Harith, slept in a weird position, prompting its owner Matt Mompoc to try to wake it up, at home in Davao de Oro province, the Philippines.

Despite playful prodding and shaking from Matt, the one-year-old feline did not respond and carried on sleeping as if dead to the world.

Matt said: 'I tried shaking him, even calling his name, but he wouldn't budge. That was the first time he did that.

'My mom was beside me while I was recording the video and we were both worried for a second because we thought he was actually dead. But eventually, he woke up after some time.'
