Artist Luke Jerram's ethereal floating earth installation appears ahead of Canary Wharf's Winter Lights Festival
Artist Luke Jerram, known for his ethereal installations, takes part in the Canary Wharf's Winter Lights Festival where a globe depicting earth floats on the water in the business district's middle dock (January 15).
Jerram creates lunar, mars and earth replicas using NASA imagery, intending to create an 'overview effect' - inspiring a feeling of awe and encouraging the viewer to think about taking responsibility of our planet.
The floating illuminated 10-metre-high sphere is one of 22 pieces at the festival this year which officially opens on the 18th January.
