GOTHENBURG, July 27 2013 – Coach Carlos Ancelotti stressed the importance of winning a tenth Champions League title with Real Madrid as being a key component of a successful season as his side prepare to face European rivals PSG in a friendly in Gothenburg.

Fans waited outside the Gothia Towers hotel in Gothenburg, waiting for a glimpse of idols like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karem Benzema, who have flown in on the day of the game and will fly out again directly afterwards.

Flanked by Luka Modric, Ancelotti told a press conference about the tradition of Real Madrid and the ambition to win a tenth European Cup title for Real – a difficult task, given the standard of their rivals.

Modric would not be drawn on his relationship with Gareth Bale, saying that he got on well with his ex-Spurs team-mate and that he was a great player, but that he wouldn’t speculate on whether or not the Welshman would be joining him at Real.

Ancelotti’s Real will face the side he led to victory in France’s Ligue 1 in the 2012/13 season, and the Italian coach said he was looking forward to meeting his old club, including star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
