Mesmerising Drone Footage Captures Volcanic Eruption In Iceland
Uploaded by a Newsflare content partner
Drone footage taken by Frederik Brogaard on 8 August shows the breath taking sight of lava bubbling from within Fagradalsfjall, a volcano near Reykjavík, Iceland.
The molten rock is a ferocious force of nature and proved to be almost too much for the 21-year-old conservationist's drone.
Frederik said: "I was flying in foggy conditions, rain and strong winds so I was worried I wouldn’t even get to launch the drone.
"The weather got much worse as we were making our way back down on a two hour hike.
"The eruption site was actually closed as the personnel asked people to turn back from the hike towards the top."
The adventurer had to bring the drone incredibly close to the lava to secure the stunning shots.
He continued: "As I was watching the drone footage I was in awe.
"It's truly a natural phenomenon only worthy and justified from the drones perspective."
