Hip hop artist Loyle Carner speaks candidly at a performance in Manchester, England about fatherhood and what it means to him, both having his own child now and what his troubled relationship was like with his own father and how his step-father was important in this moving clip from February 25.

"When I was 25, I found out I'm going to be a father. I called my biological father and he hung up the phone. About two weeks later, he calls me and said I'm sorry, I didn't know what to say, I didn't face the tools, and I think that's true for a lot of fathers from that generation," the three-time Brit nominee said on stage.

Loyle Carner has recently became a father. He takes a look back into his relationship with his father… he states that he didn’t have the best of relationships with his father during his upbringing. He speaks about how he used forgiveness and empathy to forgive his father in order to stabilise their relationship and “set himself free.”
