The world's largest container ship nears completion in Suzhou, China
China has unveiled its latest maritime masterpiece, the Xinfu 104, the world's largest container ship.
The video was filmed in the city of Taizhou in Jiangsu Province on March 29.
Developed by China, this mammoth vessel has entered the outfitting phase at the Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone of Jiangsu Province. The ship is set to go to sea for trial after the completion of its outfitting.
The Xinfu 104 is a marvel of engineering, with dimensions that dwarf any other vessel on the planet. The ship is an incredible 399.9 meters long and 61.3 meters wide, making it the largest container ship ever built. The vessel boasts a massive packing capacity of 24,346 TEus, making it the biggest in the world.
The deck area of the Xinfu 104 is truly staggering, measuring 24,000 square meters, equivalent to 3.3 standard football fields. The maximum number of crates that can be loaded onto the ship is an astonishing 25 floors, and when fully loaded, the height of ordinary residential buildings can reach 22 floors.
On March 27, 2023, the Xinfu 104 was completed in Taixing Yangzi Xinfu Shipyard, Jiangsu Province, and docked at Jiangsu Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding Co., LTD. The vessel has been carefully maintained by 21 Marine cruises, and this is the third of the six vessels of its type to be completed.
With its remarkable size and capacity, the Xinfu 104 is set to revolutionize the shipping industry and usher in a new era of maritime transport.
