A children's play area has been cordoned off in Alvaston, Derbyshire, over "concerns for the safety of a man" Derbyshire Police said.

Footage from April 12 shows a police cordon set up around Nashers Field as well as green tarpaulin around the climbing frame.

Derbyshire Police released a statement: "We were called to a park off Shardlow Road in Alvaston at about 6.15 am today over concerns for the safety of a man. Officers are still at the park and a cordon is in place."

Derbyshire police have cordoned off a children's park this morning after receiving reports of concerns for a mans safety. Police were called to Nashers Field recreation Ground at around 06:15 this morning (12/04/2023) and a large cordon remained this afternoon. Forensics officers and detectives were seen coming and going from within an area of play equipment covered by a green tarpaulin and a police tent. A witness has said that a man's body remains within this tented off area.
