A stunning display of polar lights, or aurora borealis, was captured on camera in Xinjiang, China on April 22, as a powerful geomagnetic storm hit the region.

The aurora, which is usually only visible from the Arctic Circle, covered the entire sky in green light.

Filmer Dai recorded the lights from 3 am to 5:30 am, capturing what is probably the first shooting record of it in China. The G4 geomagnetic storm, with KP 8, was reported to be the strongest one in the past six years.
