A father living in Florida shared his take on what he labelled as "atrocious" enclosures elderly manatees are being kept in at Miami Seaquarium.

David Frei recorded the "small" enclosures that two decades-old manatees were being kept in.

He states in the video that one of the marine mammals is over 60 years old.

Speaking to Newsflare, Frei said: "I was told to go to the Miami Seaquarium to witness how unconscionably small the enclosures were for higher-order sea mammals.

"What I saw, was even worse than what I could’ve imagined. The enclosure for two decades, old manatees is so small, all they can do is float in place."
