An inspiring teen artist with no hands or feet draws with a pen taped to her stump - and she dreams of becoming an architect.

Kim Guanzon, 16, was born with missing body parts, but that didn't stop the youngster from wanting to paint pictures like other children at her school in Negros Occidental, the Philippines.

She spent hours practising with improvised tools to make it possible for her to create art - and even won awards for her sketches.

Footage shows the persevering teenager using her stump leg to draw the head of an anime character on May 26. She used sticky tape to secure the black ballpoint to where her foot would be and carefully shaded her artwork with it.

She said: ‘I started by drawing flowers. Now I love to draw faces and houses using my shading technique. Every spare moment I have, I practice and learn more about techniques and styles.'

The young artist added that her family, teachers, and classmates inspired her to draw until she recently won first place in the Editorial Cartooning category at a school event.

She said: ‘My family, teachers, and classmates support me because they are the ones who believe in my capabilities. I am very grateful to them, especially to God, because he gave me a talent like this.

‘Sometimes I have a lot of mistakes or erasures, but when I am patient enough to practice, I am able to improve my drawing. This is also another way to make it easier for myself. I work hard and stay patient until I am able to master what I am drawing.'
