This storm chaser managed to capture his "best ever" thunderstorm convection near Magilligan, Northern Ireland.

Newsflare member Martinstorm described the scene as the "best I've ever seen, it was so beautiful and majestic and more like the USA than the UK!"

He also added: "In Ireland/Northern Ireland we are experiencing our best thunderstorms in years with storms every single day for a week, and they have been big, nasty and beautiful, and severe!

"June 19 was my third day in a row of storm chasing, during the late evening this huge thunderstorm exploded like a volcanic eruption with convection boiling up into the atmosphere forming enormous up draughts and the classic storm anvil, all the while the storm rumbled with thunder constantly.

"This is a done clip sped up by x4 to show the motion captured at a super wide angle. I have been chasing storms for almost 25 years and I've never seen convection like this before."

In N. Ireland we are having our best summer in years, but also our most thunderstorm active summer in as long as I can remember. The storms today were amazing with constant thunder and from a distance the storm cells looked amazing, this is a drone pan up along the updraught of an evening thunderstorm, such beautiful cloud scapes.
