STORYLINE:

Artists from Shandong Province, eastern China, gave a dazzling performance for the Kuwaiti audience on Wednesday during the opening ceremony of the "China (Shandong) Kuwait Cultural and Tourism Year."

The show, which took place at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Cultural Center in Kuwait City, featured traditional Chinese acrobatics, Lü opera, a local variety of Chinese opera, and other performances.
   
The artists' presentation created a cultural feast that showcased both the distinctive features of Chinese regions and the creative fusion of Chinese and foreign arts for the local audience. In addition to famous traditional Chinese pieces, the artists also used traditional Chinese instruments to play famous Arab songs.
   
"This is my first time witnessing a live Chinese artistic performance," said Shaug Al-Mula, a reporter from Kuwait's state TV channel. "This show has allowed me to experience the charm displayed when traditional Chinese culture interacts with the world. It's very creative and also illustrates China's open attitude toward the world. Now, more and more people in Kuwait are starting to talk about China."
   
Deng Yunfeng, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province, who attended the event, stated that this performance marks a starting point for China's emphasis on expanding its cultural influence in Kuwait through tourism promotion.
   
He stated that Shandong will take this opportunity to engage in profound cooperation with Kuwait in cultural exchanges, tourism promotion, and exhibitions of cultural relics, jointly creating a new platform for cultural exchange.
   
Shandong will carry out a year-long cooperation with Kuwait, hosting a series of events under the banner of "China (Shandong) Kuwait Cultural and Tourism Year."
