STORYLINE:

One of Bratislava's most frequented piers on the river Danube turned into a festival venue on Friday last week, as visitors from various sphere of life were treated to a taste of Chinese culture in the celebration of Dragon Boat Festival.

The Confucius Institute in Bratislava organized an introductory performance on the bank and then a culture-laden boat trip along the river to mark the traditional Chinese festival with a history of over thousands of years.

"I am fascinated by Chinese culture, as it is so much different from what we have here. I love to observe the difference between Europe and China. The behavior of the Chinese is sometimes difficult to estimate but once you get to know them, they are very warm-hearted. That was a very pleasant surprise. I have spent two years in China and the people there were very kind. My experience was only positive."
