A family from Maryland, US, has bought their golden retriever a puppy to cheer her up. Hailey filmed the cute moment the two pets meet for the first time.

"Our girl Sissy has been a little lonely, so we brought her a sibling. It was love at first sight!", Hailey told Newsflare.

The two-year-old dog couldn't contain her excitement when she met the new boy, Scout. The footage shows her looking inside the box, waving her tail, and kissing the newcomer.

"Is that your new baby?", Hailey asks Sissy in the clip.

A different video captures the adult dog in total parental exhaustion. Sissy is sprawled on the floor, utterly drained, while Scout enthusiastically engages with a toy.

"She’s clearly accustomed to being an only child", said Hailey.
