The SAG-AFTRA actors' union went on strike in Los Angeles and New York City on Friday, July 14, joining the ongoing WGA writers' strike.

The national board for the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), which comprises 160,000 members, announced the call to strike at a news conference on Thursday, a day after negotiations broke down with the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers), the bargaining group representing major studios.

This video shows demonstrators protesting outside Netflix in Los Angeles on Thursday after the announcement of negotiations collapsed.
