This footage was filmed and produced 16 July 2023.

The video shows the event in the neighborhood of freedom, in the central region of Sao Paulo, the Tanabata Matsuri, which is the biggest street festival in the world with dances, taiko and lots of music.

As part of the celebrations, it is a custom to write a wish on a coloured strip of paper called tanzaku and hang it up on bamboo.

Tanzakus are made in six colors, each representing a wish: white (peace), yellow (money), green (hope), red (gratitude), pink (love) and blue (heavens protection).

People write their requests and hang them from the bamboos distributed around Praca da Liberdade and surrounding streets. At the end of the celebration, the organization of the event collects everyone and sends them to the Shinto ceremony, which takes place in a few days.
