A dolphin injured four people that were swimming in Mihama's Suishohama beach, Japan, on Sunday (July 16). One man suffered broken ribs after the mammal rammed him in shallow waters.

The footage shows the animal swimming very close to people and pushing a woman with an inflatable ring.

The cause of this behaviour is unknown. Scientists believe that wild bottlenose dolphins find swimming alongside humans "incredibly stressful,".

The local police said that Fukui has recorded six such attacks this year.
