Fed up giraffe kicks pursuing ostrich to ground at St Louis Zoo
A giraffe annoyed by an ostrich's presence kicked out at the bird, leaving onlookers at St. Louis Zoo shocked.
Footage captured by Devika Seth shows the ostrich tumbling over onto its back after the giraffe kicked out.
Another clip shows the dazed bird walking headfirst into the enclosure's rocky wall.
Seth told Newsflare: "My husband, daughter, and I were in St. Louis in late March 20203 for a volleyball tournament. One of the places we visited during our stay was the St. Louis Zoo. While we were at the zoo, we came across an enclosure with two adult giraffes and a large ostrich.
I thought it was odd that the zoo had seemingly randomly placed these animals together, so I started taking a video. Before I knew it, I witnessed the ostrich stalking the giraffe from behind with his wings splayed.
"It appeared that the ostrich was going to grab the giraffe with his wings from behind. However, before the ostrich could attack the giraffe, the giraffe let loose one of his legs and kicked the ostrich.
"The blow was so hard that the ostrich rolled over before regaining his footing. Everyone I have shown the video tells me that it is one of the funniest things they have ever seen!"
