A UPS delivery driver was left startled by a homeowner's cow roaming around the premises in LaGrange, Georgia.

Footage captured by the homeowner's doorbell camera shows the bovine approaching the unsuspecting worker as she drops off a package.

As she turns around, she spots the cow and starts hesitating to walk past it.

The homeowner Brandi then opens the door and calls out to her cow, Ava, to help reassure the delivery driver.

Brandi told Newsflare: "Ava is a 1-year-old Holstein cow that was raised from a bottle. I purchased her from an auction when she was only 2 days old. She was sick and I nursed her back to health.

"I really don’t think she knows she's a cow. Her favourite hobbies are eating snacks and getting scratches or rubs. On this day she apparently decided to jump the fence and hang out in the yard for several hours. I had no clue until UPS showed up and was in for a surprise."
