A man was left shocked after he drove into a car wash hoping for a clean but ended up with a broken windshield – which he claims cost him a whopping £23,000 to get fixed.

Beau Stottlemyer popped in to get his vehicle scrubbed up during his lunch break when something unimaginable happened.

The 22-year-old, who has gone viral online, had a bike rack attached to the back, which is believed to have gotten stuck in the car wash brushes and led to “extensive damage” to his truck.

The bizarre clip has over 9.2 million views on TikTok, leaving social media users in stitches at the unfortunate accident (@b_stott26 ).

“The side brushes rippled it off their car and got stuck in the curtain brushes and spun up to be vertical with my truck,” the machine programmer from Denver, Colorado, said.

“As I was going through my truck got caught on the top of my windshield and the bottom of the side brush causing extensive damage to my truck.”

Beau estimated the damage would amount to around $3,000 (£2,339) but was once again left stunned after the repair garage quoted him $30,000 (£23,637) to fix the windshield.

He said: “It had gone up in price because after cutting into it, the body shop saw the full extent of the damage.

“I have another quote next week to see if they are going to total it or not.”

Despite the possibility that he might lose his car, Beau isn’t upset with the car wash company.

He said: “The carwash people have been extremely helpful and they are working with me on the whole situation.

“They even got me a rental car until I either get my truck back or get a vehicle and they are paying for the full extent of the damages.

“At first I was a little shaken up, now I just want my truck back and for it to all be over!”

In the clip, Beau can be seen gently driving into the carwash, with everything appearing nice and smooth at first.

Then, all of a sudden, there is a bang and the washers drop on his car, which had the remaining parts of the bike in.

Beau then shows an after picture of the damage, with the front of the windshield completely caved in.

The video has over 376,200 likes as well as over 7,000 comments from users.
