The 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week wrapped up Saturday in China's Guizhou.

Officials and experts from both China and ASEAN countries have gathered to discuss how to better deepen exchanges and cooperation in education, with high-level university cooperation a major focus.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): PORNCHAI MONGKHONVANIT, President of Siam University, Thailand
"I think that China and ASEAN are more ready to have the new way to learn, and to do the activities together by digitalization. Thailand and China have more capacity in order to expand our education collaboration.
And I think that China also has a lot of things to offer, both in new technology and also the cultivation of the local wisdom that has been in your country for a long time. So what I can say is that education will be the foundation of any society if we can have good quality of education and enhance (it) by digitalization."

The Education Cooperation Week, launched in 2008, has developed into a high-end platform and a solid bridge in China-ASEAN cooperation.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): NORASHIKIN ABDUL HAMID, Teacher of Tun Hussein Onn University of Malaysia
"To boost the cooperation between the universities in China and also Asian (countries), we can have a lot of students exchange, so that we can change the education as well and also the opinion, the culture, how their lifestyle, and then they can learn from other Asian countries on how they are living in other places."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): ENDANG AMINUDIN AZIZ, Head of National Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, at Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia
