Unlucky dad smashed brand-new shower screen as he tried to bring it home - and caught it all on camera
An unlucky dad smashed a brand-new shower screen as he tried to bring it home - and caught it all on camera.
Funny footage shows Michael Roberts, 58, breaking the glass outside his house in Tamworth, Staffs.
He arrives at the property with partner Sharon Cantrill, 48 - and neither can believe what has happened.
The broken glass covered a 72 sq ft area and took an hour to clear, hotel manager Michael said.
His arms were covered in little scratches but no one was seriously hurt.
Michael said: "I guess the corner caught on the concrete step. It just exploded, like someone had put a bullet through it."
"I was a bit shocked but I mean what are you going to do - I just had to laugh."
"I just said, 'You better get the camera'."
"Sharon's face was a picture. She wasn't sure at first and then she started laughing as soon as I did."
Michael, a dad-of-three, had done a refurb on the whole property, leaving the bathroom till last.
The shower screen, which cost a couple of hundred pounds, had been sitting outside with other materials before it's fateful trip inside on Monday 25/9.
Michael had to buy another, which he fitted the same day.
He said: "Poor Sharon had waited ages for a shower - fortunately she was able to use one at the hotel."
