A man has confessed how he decided to play GOLF to "pass the time" while his wife was in labor for 12 hours. "

Steven Rideaux, 39 and his wife Da'sha, 27, were at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Louisiana, awaiting the arrival of their second child.

Da'sha had been in labor for five hours when Steven decided to get his gold clubs from the trunk of his car to "pass the time"."

The video taken by Da'sha shows Steven lining up his putt and aiming the gold ball into a hospital bucket.

A member of the medical staff can be seen laughing at Steven's attempts while attending to Da'sha.

Sunni Apollo Rideaux was born naturally on May 15, weighing 7lbs 11oz, and Steven "can't wait to take her on the golf course"."

Steven, a retired military officer, from Lake Charles, Louisiana, said: "Labor is long, and then I remembered I had my gold club and pad in the trunk of my car."

"I walked it into the hospital like a cane. "

"Da'sha didn't mind me practicing my swing, it helped both of us pass the time."

"She even gave me comments and corrections on my form."

"I love golf, it's my favourite pastime."

"I can't wait to take Sunni to the range with me."

The couple also share daughter, Stormi Knox Rideaux, who passed away on October 22 2024, at three months old, from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Steven posted the golf video on TikTok, and it received over 606,000 views.

Da'sha said: "It was a good distraction whilst I was in pain."

"He likes to practice his swing wherever we go and always has his clubs with him."

"It wasn't a surprise that he practised his swing in the labor room."

"Sunni is our blessing, and we are grateful to God for her."
