Awesome Scalextric cars flew over a ramp at high speed but landed perfectly during a race.

Footage shows the slot cars running in tracks and launching into the air when they pass through the slope before touching down on the other side of the course in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 1.

The miniature vehicles were racing against each other for the country's final round of the Tamiya Racing Competition and to determine the Thai representative in the global league.

Onlooker Burin Mudpongtua said: ‘I accidentally saw the event at the Fashion Island mall, so I stopped by to watch.'

Scalextric is a brand of slot car racing sets that was first invented in the late 1950s. These are typically 1:32 scale models of real cars that run on a plastic track.
