SOUNDBITE (Spanish): JUAN ANTONIO COLOMA, President of Senate of Chile
"I think that the BRI has been an engine which is a necessity because people often ignore the importance of the future.
Nowadays, I tend to think that there's a prevalence of short-term thinking in decision-making, perhaps driven by the influence of social networks. The prevailing mindset often prioritizes 'right now.'
So, it is interesting to have the BRI that makes us think about the now and the future, about how to develop in the foreseeable future.
And I also believe that this is a tremendous opportunity for both countries (Chile and China), even for Latin America, which can be incorporated into a much more fruitful development."
