British media union Bectu (the Broadcasting, Entertainment, Communications and Theatre Union) held a protest in solidarity with striking Hollywood writers and actors, in London on Thursday 5 October.

The SAG-AFTRA strike in the US is in part related to how technology is changing the way films are made and consumed -- issues that also affect film industry workers in the UK and elsewhere.

At the event was National Secretary of Bectu, Spencer MacDonald, Charlotte Sewel from Bectu's costume branch, Blair Barnette from the British Film Design Guild (BFDG), James Taylor from the Unscripted TV Union (part of Bectu), and Pia Josephson from the union's Virtual Production branch.
