Actors and crew members attended a rally in central London on Thursday (October 5) to demand a swift and fair end to the actors strike in the US.

The demonstration was organised by Bectu, the UK's union for non-performing workers in entertainment. Equity UK, the actors union for Britain, was also in attendance.

The rally was held metres away from the Odeon Luxe cinema in Leicester Square, famous for its movie premieres.

Placards spotted at the demonstration included "Lights, camera, no action", "Negotiate! UK crew suffers too!" and "F-unemployed is no longer fun".

In Hollywood, the WGA writers union has agreed a tentative deal with the AMPTP. The SAG-AFTRA actors union will resume negotiations with the AMPTP on Friday.
