STORYLINE:

Maritime Silk Road (Quanzhou) International Forum on Judicial Cooperation (2023) was held in Quanzhou, east China's Fujian Province, from Oct. 25 to 26. The theme of the forum is "Building the Maritime Silk Road Together and Promoting High-quality Judicial Cooperation."
  
Over 100 legal representatives from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative attended the forum, and discussed strengthening judicial cooperation and promoting mutual development.

"So we are trying to also go through those things, as to how do we resolve those commercial, very big commercial disputes that involve multinational cooperations and companies. So these are some of our challenges that we have.
Solutions? Solution is, we are here to learn from China and other countries to help us, how we can deal with our own issues. We want to hear China's experience, we want to hear the other countries' experiences so that we can deal with those issues and those problems."

"In general, collaboration with the Chinese government in establishing a stable, fair, transparent and predictable legal system along the Maritime Silk Road takes the form of participation and exchange between the two courts. Apart from regular forum like this, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia also routinely sends a number of judges since the last decade, regularly sending its representatives to China to attend various short courses held by the Chinese government in various commercial related fields, such as IPR, insolvency, arbitration."
