In a collaborative effort involving DonJon-SMIT, Inc. salvage crews and Playland Marine LLC pollution removal crews, the cargo vessel Bonnie G has been successfully refloated and towed to the safety of the Sandfill dock in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The operation, which took place on October 30, 2023, marked a significant milestone in the Bonnie G Response Incident Command's mission.

The Bonnie G Response Incident Command was a coordinated endeavor led by the Coast Guard and comprised of various federal and local agencies, as well as the responsible party involved. Their collective efforts aimed to address the predicament of the Bonnie G cargo vessel, which ran aground approximately half a mile south of the Cyril E. King airport in St. Thomas on October 4, 2023.

The successful refloating and towing of the cargo vessel represent a substantial achievement in mitigating potential environmental and navigational hazards. This collaborative response underscores the importance of timely and effective action in situations involving maritime incidents.
