Recently, two rounds of field surveys for the Chengdu area of the Giant Panda National Park in 2023 have been completed in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
During the survey process, data from 76 cameras in 48 grids were collected. Officially released were videos captured by infrared cameras in the Dayi region, featuring clear images of snow leopards.
Giant pandas mainly inhabit the mid-low mountain forest ecosystems at an altitude of around 2,000 meters, while snow leopards primarily reside in high-altitude ecosystems above 3,500 meters.
The southwest mountainous region and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are currently two areas in China with relatively intact ecosystems and conservation effectiveness.
