A crazed pet pit bull escaped from a home and attacked a man who was walking on his own driveway.

CCTV footage shows how the man was scrolling on his phone when he stood up to see what the loud barking was.

Suddenly the aggressive canine came running along the street and lunged at the resident outside his home in Rayong province, Thailand, on November 19.

The man fell back onto the grass and cowered in fear. But the snarling beast continued mauling him.

Its owner arrived moments later and restrained the pit bull while their neighbour appeared to nurse a minor wound he sustained on the stomach.

He told local media that he was not seriously hurt and has since remonstrated with the careless neighbour about keeping his dog locked up.
