The far-right won the elections in the Netherlands

The Party for Freedom (PVV) of Geert Wilders would have secured the election of 35 deputies in a Parliament of 150 seats, followed by the left-wing alliance of Frans Timmermans, with 26. The second big surprise of this consultation was the disappointing result of Pieter Omtzigt, leader of the center-right New Social Contract (NSC), who would have come in last position.
