STORYLINE:

The World Conference on China Studies -- Shanghai Forum concluded on Friday in Shanghai, spurring trans-cultural exchanges among the participants. 

Featuring four parallel sub-forums, the two-day conference was attended by more than 400 experts, scholars, and representatives of relevant parties from over 60 countries and regions.

The participants believe that in the future, Chinese studies should be multi-lingual studies facing the world. The studies can be promoted in different countries and different languages.

"In the past 40 years, meanwhile, China has also deeply engaged in global cultural exchange and dialogue. The mutual understanding of norms and values is one of the core premises for China's participation in global governance. If it holds true that China is pursuing a new long march towards becoming a modern society, we have to be aware of the implementation of modes of participation and deliberation."
