Unlicensed Harris's Hawk Found at Home of Nazi Organization Member in Hormilleja, Spain

A 47-year-old resident of Hormilleja is under investigation and sanctioned by the Guardia Civil for harboring an Harris's hawk without proper documentation as per the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
The Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of La Rioja, in collaboration with the Guardia Civil from the Basque Country, seized the bird and transferred it to the La Fombera Wildlife Recovery Center for proper care.
The owner of the hawk, a 47-year-old male from Hormilleja, is the same individual who was arrested a month ago as a member of a paramilitary organization with Nazi ideology, which was dismantled in various Spanish provinces.
The owner is being investigated for a suspected wildlife-related offense and has been reported for an administrative violation of the Smuggling Law, carrying a minimum fine of one thousand euros.
The Guardia Civil has forwarded the case to the judicial authorities, and the administrative report has been submitted to the Customs and Excise Delegation of La Rioja.
