Husband's dramatic rescue saves wife from falling planks
This is the moment a husband jeopardised his safety to rescue his wife from imminent danger as a stack of wooden planks unexpectedly tumbled off a forklift, narrowly avoiding a potential catastrophe.
CCTV footage captured the selfless act showing the husband instinctively saving his wife, placing himself in harm's way.
As the forklift operator attempted to maneuver, the stack of boards disintegrated, plummeting abruptly toward the couple below in Anhui, China, on January 17.
The husband instantly moved forward, skillfully extracting his wife from the imminent peril, securing her safety without hesitation.
He said after the incident: 'It's okay if it hits me. Just can't let anything happen to my wife.'
Mrs. Xu told of the danger they faced and acknowledged her husband's immediate and selfless reaction, saying: 'The situation was genuinely dangerous, but my husband's reaction truly moved me.
'He's always like this, placing me first no matter when or where.'
Mrs. Xu said of their decade-long marriage: 'In these ten years, he has been increasingly good to me. He always remembers what I like and dislike. Things I hesitate to buy, once he knows, he'll get them for me.'
When asked about his extraordinary care for Mrs. Xu, the husband responded with a smile, saying, 'It's because I love her.
'Making someone feel happy and secure is what love is about. If shes happy, I'm happy.'
