In the aftermath of relentless rainfall, San Diego faces a crisis as severe flash floods wreak havoc across the city. Mayor Todd Gloria announced a state of emergency, responding to the extensive damage caused by the intense weather conditions.

Parts of the San Diego region experienced an unprecedented 5 inches or more of rainfall over the past four days, marking Monday as one of the city's wettest days on record, according to the National Weather Service.
